Anticipating Zaria’s Arrival: Blog post #3 MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Merry Christmas!!! Going to keep this post short and sweet :>) Well last week (week 30) wasn’t too bad. I got some good workouts in and got a lot accomplished. Pasta is what I craved and of course I had some. I didn’t go overboard which is easy to do with some good pasta. My husband made spaghetti and meatballs and it was sooooooo delish! I also craved grapefruit and grapefruit juice and ironically/unfortunately, this happened to be the same week that heartburn came back to pay me a visit. Grapefruit combined with heartburn equals a horrible and uncomfortable combo. A few nights I woke up in the middle of the night due to good ol’ reflux and it sucked! I decided to try to sleep on the couch a couple of times this week and it was actually pretty comfortable, but I eventually decided to go back to my cozy bed. Nothing beats wrapping yourself in warm sheets and blankets on a really soft mattress. Another weird thing I experienced this past week were my dreams at night. Lets just say they were a bit cray! I thought they were strange last trimester but this was on a whole new level. From being a lead back up dancer for a major artist, to being a body guard, to dreaming that my labor and delivery was a cinch hahaha! Hopefully it will be pretty pleasant… maybe the dream is a sign?!
I had an appointment yesterday and Zaria is measuring right on pace. She’s healthy and growing. About nine weeks left until her due date. The thought of this is so exciting!!! I’m in the single digits now… wow!!! My doc gave me nothing but great feedback so that’s always good. I’m hoping sleep gets back to being a little more consistent. I’m so excited about Christmas and spending time with my family! It’s my favorite time of the year and this one will be my first Christmas preggo! Such a blessing!
Fun random fact: Zaria is the name of a major city in North Central Nigeria! Such a coincidence as that is my heritage! We found out about this after we chose this name for her. We want her to grow up learning and knowing about her Nigerian culture and how cool that it will be part of her name!
That’s all for now! Have a Merry Christmas and have so much fun with your family!!!!
